I actually wanted to do something similar. I wanted to use Live effects on audio tracks in Logic. This is the thread: http://www.bigbluelounge.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=44922 Unfortunately I couldn't find a way to do it. But unless you want your audio back into live to do more processing, running l...

Hmm, I just tried using Jack, but that wouldn't work because Live disables plug ins when running as a slave.

Boo.

Oh well, I'll have to read up on programming audio units, I guess. :)

You could try soundflower. It can work ok, or it can be as unstable as hell. If you don't try to push too much through it at once, it may work. Basically, out Logic -> soundflower16 -> Live input, then rewire back to Logic. It would probably help to make an aggregate device in audioMIDI with your m...

Routing Audio through Live and back to Logic (possible?)

Ok, I have a kick track and a snare track in Logic Pro 8. I was wondering if the following is possible. (It doesn't seem to be after poking around, but I want to ask all of you.) I want to take the output of those tracks (individually) and run it into Live and then have it route back into Logic. I d...

I think the benefit is more for all app's in general via better process scheduling for the multi-core Mac's. This has nothing to do with multi core cpu's or scheduling. This is using the GPU as something like a DSP to assist in certain types of processing. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPGPU

The future of Logic?

From Apple's "Snow Leopard" page (http://www.apple.com/macosx/snowleopard/): OpenCL Another powerful Snow Leopard technology, OpenCL (Open Compute Library), makes it possible for developers to efficiently tap the vast gigaflops of computing power currently locked up in the graphics processing unit (...

I would LOVE to get my hands on that and give some REAL answers. Or, you could leave feedback on, you know, Apple's feedback page... :) I submit feedback all the time to Apple. (Usually feature requests) I got the survey a few days ago, it didn't have anything special in it, really. Anyone who didn...

get an mbox mini. isn't soundtoys stuff AU now anyway? Speed is only RTAS. Correction - Speed is only Audiosuite. Ok so school me here, RTAS is for AudioSuite plugs that you can automate, and anything else is just AudioSuite? So you're saying Speed is not automatable (Which in hindsight, makes sense)

If you get the MBP be sure to get the 7200 rmp Hard Drive option!!!!!!!

I mean it. Seriously. If the OS has to swap for any reason what-so-ever you'll be happy you got the 7200 vs the 5400 or 4800 rpm drive.

For $800 right now you can get 2, TWO! Presonus Firepod's as they're clearing them out for $399 since they changed the name to "FP10" (Same exact hardware, I just "upgraded" my Firepod to an FP10 via a firmware update) That'll give you 16 channels of analog I/O at 24/96. Not a bad deal. No ADAT thou...

Actually I guess I don't really need the factory plug ins. I'll either go with the mbox 2 mini or the mbox 2
