Frustrating download glitch.
Hi all, I'm running several different computers both PCs and Macs, but my main mac has developed a horrid itch. It is capable of surfing the net fine but the minute I try to download anything, and I believe, increase the bandwidth I'm using it gets to about the first 2meg then freezes my ISP so none...

Re. "even when tracks are frozen" I have had bad experiences with vocal transformers running with nothing going through them, they seem to panic with silence, disabling these could help? But what you're suffering from doesn't sound right, maybe time for a repair permissions, dump prefs? With regards...

For what was originally a MIDI sequencer, Logic really don't like tempo changes. I sync a pro tools rig to Logic via MTC and have to have it in Jam sync, because Logic will stop spitting code out on tempo shifts. I think one of the things that is causing this, is that Logic is doing all sorts of cle...

Cut and Paste! Open up the source LSO go to the hyper set, Select All, Copy, open destination LSO (if you've got lots of AU Instruments you might want to switch your audio hardware drivers off until this process is complete). Then go to hyper, select all and delete, then hit paste, et voila! Have a ...

Well said Monster. I think reading manuals is a complete waste of time, they are useful as reference tools, but to read? You'll forget one page as you move onto the next. Apologies for those other posts, they clearly have too much time on their hands, I make a living out of music and cannot tell you...

Last question first: Click your pointer on where you want the time sig change and then just click it into a different time signature, note that the sig will remain as that thereafter, so if you want one bar of 2/4 click on the next bar and change it back to 4/4. Alternatively go to the Signature edi...

...and suddenly, we're at 44.1!
Lovely little bug this, if you're interested in mucking your system up enough to force a restart follow these remarkably easy steps. 1. Work on a film soundtrack that has multiple cues and therefore lots and lots of lsos. 2. Set your sample rate to 48K for all these cues. 3. Open a real big cue and ...

Good point, annoying feature in Logic though, switch off the audio hardware drivers (i.e. if you want to transfer stuff from one big lso to another, the only really practical way to do it) and watch as logic defaults back to 44.1K and sends everything running in the background absolutely nuts! (i.e....

That is interesting, thanks, I think therein lies my expulsion from East West's site. I was drawing people's attention to the fact that it was impossible to use their software in a fluid and creative way (without, bouncing and reloading continuously). Other composers you have been warned, Symphonic ...

Expensive Memory That Doesn't Seem To Do Anything
Any ideas would be appreciated. I'm running a G5 dual 2Ghz with the latest version of Tiger and would like to know if there is any way I can manage the memory I have installed. This is the problem I am having: I am composing for a film that's on quite a big scale so have invested in several East Wes...
