Re: Still using Logic 7?

Make sure you have the correct output device selected, in the audio preferences.

Then select the proper output on the channel strip, and the master bus.

Re: No apps other than Live send audio to Saffire PRO 24

Check to see if you have the current drivers.

Check your settings in the Audio Midi Setup Utility.

Check your settings in each audio app.

The new mini has been neutered, and there is no longer a quad core option.

As my previous post says, I use DSP-Quattro.
Works fine.

Re: MBPr 15" or iMac?

Interesting. I wonder when the MBP will come with 32 gb ram? Won't happen any time soon, the mobile version of the i7 is limited by the chipset that maxes out at 16GB. The iMacs Is the only model with the desktop version of the i7. The Mini is the best value, some use VEP5 and multiple minis for or...

Re: Need advice on new stable iMac/Logic set up

I'm considering switching from my Mac Pro, with tons of internal storage (4 HDs in bays, 1 SSD on PCIe card), to the next generation 15" MacBook Pro Retina. The limited internal storage presents the same issue. My plan is to use external hard drives via USB3 or Thunderbolt. Either interface with mo...

Re: Need advice on new stable iMac/Logic set up

Be aware of the differences between the iMac models. What ever you get, I suggest a quad i7 CPU. The 21.5 inch models have a max of 16GB RAM, get as much as you can afford, because the RAM is soldered to the motherboard. Changing drives requires a display tear down. :o The 27 inch, has four standard...

Re: One box to replace three !?...

Those interfaces should suit your needs, I haven't heard good things about the Lexicon interface. You may want to consider a unit with phantom power, required by condenser mics. ( also available as a battery powered add-on. ) The Apogee most likely would have superior sound quality. You should be ab...

And it sounds correct when you mix?

When I put on my electronic tech hat, the question IS, what happens to non-encoded signals?

Can't be decoded by Dolby circuitry.
