Re: Help for a well-intentioned novice

Are you using an actual MIDI interface, or are you taking a USB line out of your MPK and into your iMac? (I'm assuming the MPK has a USB port--don't know for sure, never used one...)

Re: Sibilance when used with Neumann monitors

I highly doubt the sibilance problem you're hearing is due to an input gain problem or mismatch coming from the ULN-2. Most likely it's just a combo of what that monitor sounds like in your room. Have you listened to that monitor with a different DAC in your room? Also, I couldn't tell from your pic...

Yep, Acousticas have gone. Very sad. Their Bricasti IRs for Space Designer are really top notch.

Re: 100% Logic Virgin

I agree with CSEye: keep it simple for now. In fact, I would probably start with Garageband before you even try to buy Logic (whether that be Logic Express or Logic Pro). Try opening up Garageband on your Macbook (it came pre-installed as part of your computer). Poke around for a few minutes. Then g...

I agree with this one. It should sit at the top of the insert slots.

10.6.4 anyone?

Hey everybody,
I'm still on 10.6.2, and was just wondering if there are any problems with going to 10.6.4. My system is really stable at the moment, so i don't want to move if it's going to risk anything...

Re: 64-Bit Compatibility

And the sample libraries that benefit most from the 64-bit address will, in fact, be able to access the greater amount of RAM. Well, assuming it's one that's been rewritten, of course.

Re: Clear advise need for upgrade

Well, it's not necessarily that it's so much "hipper" as it's just that SL is clearly the way forward from here. I would personally go for Snow Leopard (I also am assuming you're on an Intel machine, yes?). If your big sample libraries are on external drives, then you (generally) should be able to j...

Re: Logic Out Of Tune?

Do you mean that in your Logic session (at least according to your KORG tuners) A=437 instead of A=440? Did you check your Project Settings? There's a "Tuning" tab in there where you can set a global tuning reference for all software instruments. Most of the individual software instruments offer a t...

9 is definitely better than 8 for my uses. Flex Time, for one thing, has been really great for me.

Re: Batch processing in Wave Editor?

Awesome! Thanks, Tarekith.
You know, I had never even looked at Sample Manager before. The name of the app just didn't seem to fit what I was looking for, in my mind.

I may need to start converting a bunch of audio files from 44.1 to 88.2, and this looks like it might be just the ticket...

Batch processing in Wave Editor?

Hi, I've looked everywhere I can think to look (online manual, AE forums, this forum...) but I can't seem to find the answer. I'm wondering if it's possible to batch process a bunch of files in Wave Editor. For instance, could I take a bunch of audio files and upsample all of them from 44.1 to 88.2?...

Re: Latest and the greatest cans?

I'm a huge fan of my Sennheiser HD650s. They're open-eared, though, so they generally won't work well for tracking. For mixing, though, I haven't used anything better, headphone-wise. Very flat, even response. Nice bass extension, very, very open on top. Great stuff. For tracking (and even checking ...
