Hi dinga, "is there really no workaround for this, outside of logic, u think?" well I tried to get around this problem a while ago and found a way, but it is not ready for the public yet; when it is working right (and doesn't mess up the MIDI configuration afterwards ;)) it will become part of MidiP...

Hi maxxbom, first of all the AppleScriptTrigger tool should work "out of the box". It does nothing special and doesn't need any settings (only a correct script). That the AppleScriptTriggerTest.mipi doesn't work is very strange. Do you use the "Keyboard" tool in that pipe to trigger the script? Do y...

Re: Midipipe Midi Software cubase and a mpc

kencredible: you want only one MIDI CLOCK or MTC source (master) that gets routed to all other devices (slaves); if "rewireing" cubase to reason breaks your setup, try to remove the "rewireing" and connect everything through virtual MIDI ports hope this helps regards, Nico Anyone using midipipe in t...

rrR: If MTC doesn't show up in AList, but CLOCK does, then make sure the sender is indeed set to MTC. You never want both MTC and MIDI CLOCK at the same time, so there should be a setting to choose between the two. Regards, Nico Any thoughts on this issue nicowald?? Thanks again. Sorry to jump to th...

Hi Josh, a program change or control/mode change doesn't do anything to the MIDI channel a device listens to. So I'm confused by your question. Your script will increment the first byte of any incoming message by 2. For channel messages (Note On/Off, Program Change ..) this will increment the MIDI c...

Hi Josh, yes it is possible via AppleScript. Keep in mind that triggering an AppleScript adds latency, so the "AppleScript Trigger" tool should only see messages it really needs. Since you basically want to change the channel of progam change messages controlled by a MIDI controller, try this: Midi ...

Yes, Garageband listens to ALL MIDI ports unfortunately, so you can use MidiPipe to add messages, but can't use it to filter or modify.

wonderingstar: Start with a Keyboard, AList, and Midi Out tool. Keyboard for triggering some notes, AList for watching the MIDI stream and Midi Out to route to Logic. Please read this post to prevent a MIDI loop in logic: http://www.osxaudio.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=72063#72063 If that works add t...

w, I don't own these apps so I'm just guessing. Start MidiPipe, in Band in a Box select "MidiPipe Input 1" as output. In Digital Performer select "MidiPipe Output 1" as input. In MidiPipe create a pipe that has a "Midi In" (select "MidiPipe Input 1" and "Midi Out" tool (select "MidiPipe Output 1"). ...

Hi w,

since SampleTank comes as a AU or VST plugin you need a host application to use it. In that app you can select a MIDI source. Simply choose "MidiPipe Output 1" (only available while MidiPipe is running) and your done.

Helge,

simply put the .mipi file you want to load at startup into the startup items (opening a .mipi file will launch MidiPipe).
