AUNetSend and AUNetReceive reliability

Post by gbevin » 13 Sep 2009, 13:13

I was wondering if anyone has experience with AUNetSend and AUNetReceive in a live setting. I have two MacBook Pros when playing live, one for my Metric Halo ULN-8 which does the mixing and one for my Metric Halo 2882 to mainly switch MIO console presets and do some DSP with Bidule. While thinking about the possibilities of being able to benefit from the 8 MIO 2882 inputs in the ULN-8 mixer without having to mix-down to a stereo mix, I started to experiment with AUNetSend and AUNetReceive over a dedicated gigabit ethernet connection. This seems to hold up pretty well even with 8 distinct channels and I'm going to try it out
during rehearsal soon.

I was wondering though, is anyone else doing this? If yes, what are your finding about this solution?
