Wave Editor, DSP-Quattro, Sample Manager Q's

Post by lemuse » 09 Oct 2009, 08:17

I have DSP-Quattro 2.5 (and of course WaveBurner and Soundtrack). With the limited time upgrade offer for DSP-Quattro 3.xx, I am debating it versus getting something else (since I already have 2.5) like Wave Editor or Sample Manager which would also give me the Izotope SRC and dither, and First Aid. I haven't used DSP-Q enough to form a knowledgeable answer to this question versus those of you who may be using it on a day to day basis. It seems 3.x is only offering new playlists and nicer GUI over 2.5?

1) Is DSP version 3.xx a significant improvement over 2.5, such as sound quality, new killer feature or whatever?
2) Is Wave Editor miles above DSP-Q (or vise versa)?
If not...
3) then having Sample Manger for the batch feature might be a good addition?

I could also through AudioFinder into this mix. I've long since exhausted my ability to full-demo this so I'm only using it right now for the previewing. Plus with the various Mac Bundles I've aquired stuff like Amadeus, etc.

Thoughts? Thanks.

Sorry, tough for me to recommend one as I own and use them all, each fits into a niche in my workflow and each is well supported...personal style/choice is going to have to be your key here (in other words I have high regards for them all which is why I use them all).
