Import Sibelius files into Logic?

Post by iMan » 10 Nov 2003, 09:35

I'm new to Logic and just installed BigBox version a couple of days ago, wow! really love it and already thinking of upgrading to Platinum.
Although I'm very new to Logic, I am seasoned with Sibelius so I want to know if I can import Sibelius straight into the "Score View" in Logic as I can type up scores really quick in Sibelius as I'm used to it. I tried file/import, but Sibelius files are none-selectable.

I've checked in the help menu and in the index of the Reference Manual, but coudn't find anything?

Finally, am I the only one or does anyone else find the index in the Reference Manual next door to useless, it hardly lists anything. Just 6 pages of index for a 490 page manual?

Maybe this is a feature of Platinum?

Cheers.

if you export sibelius as MIDI files yes, but as a score format, it wont go in.
I love sibelius, and logics scoring is good, but not as refined as sibs.

Does this mean you open the MIDI Sibelius file in the Logic Matrix window?

Matrix view is a way to view MIDI data in Logic. In Logic 8 and 9 it's called the Piano Roll editor. You should still export a MIDI file from Sibelius and import it into Logic.
