Error code -43?

Post by kabb » 16 Nov 2005, 03:55

Hey,

I keep getting an error code -43 and I worked out that it has to do with a converted soundfont file in EXS. I tried removing EXS convert and converting the SF file again but that doesn't work. I booted my old OS and the EXS file loaded fine.

Any suggestions on how to have it load in new OS?

Many thanks in advance..

If you know which file is causing it, check the actual file and make sure permissions are set correctly. (you should check the permissions on the enclosing directory too.) Also make sure there are no illegal characters in the file name.

(perhaps the file, or the directory, is owned by the user in the old OS you booted into ?)

Target not found. It can be a file or a folder that's missing, or just not where it was expected to be.
Mac Studio (M2 Ultra) . UA Apollo x6 + Quad . Logic Pro . Acoustica . PS CC . Affinity Suite . Get Info

Well, if you can find the file, select it and 'get info' (command+I) and look at the ownership & permissions details.
You may be able to change ownership there, but it would be better to move the file(s) to a non-boot drive which can be set to 'ignore ownership' (This setting is in the Info window for the drive.)

Result code = -43

Still having no luck :( I've located the files. They're old soundfont files of some vocals I cut up in recycle - converted to soundfont - then into EXS. I've tried to change the owership to read and write but it doesn't seem to change anything. (They were on read only) I do have the files in a few locations.. One on my old OS drive etc.

I'll try to set my drive to 'ignore ownership' now.

Thanks for the help so far..
