Zynaptiq has released Morph 2, their first version of the impressive sound design software originally developed by Prosoniq. The upgrade offers new algorithms, a new high-quality formant shifter, a friendlier UI, and several additional parameters and enhancements. Morph 2 is a real-time plug-in for structural audio morphing, the sonic equivalent of one object slowly changing its shape to become a different object. A visual example is the Michael Jackson “Black or White” music video, in which faces morph into each other. Morph 2 creates seamless morphing transitions, hybrid sounds that combine aspects of existing ones, physically impossible instruments, unique creature and robot voices, talkbox-like effects, surreal sound-scapes and other unheard new sounds. Morph 2 is available now for $179, with upgrades at $89. Requires OS X 10.6.8, a dual-core CPU, and an AU, AAX Native, RTAS or VST compatible host DAW.
