MOTU is now shipping Digital Performer 9, a major upgrade to their flagship audio workstation software. DP9 features MOTU’s powerful MX4 MultiSynth, five new plug-ins including MasterWorks FET-76, an emulation of the classic 1176 limiting amplifier, automation lanes and spectrogram display in the Sequence Editor, Retina display support, Project Notes, expanded search, MusicXML notation export, and more.

DP9 is available now for a street price of $499. Upgrades from previous versions of Performer start at $195. Competitive upgrades from DAWs like Logic, Pro Tools, Cubase, and even MOTU’s own AudioDesk are $395. It requires OS X 10.6.8 or later and supports AU, VST, and MAS plug-ins.
