Sonimus has released Burnley 73, an equalizer plug-in inspired by the classic Neve 1073 mic preamp and EQ, first launched in 1970. Burnley 73 carefully recreates the characteristic sound of the EQ, with one fixed high frequency band, two switchable bands with cut and boost, a high pass filter, gain, and dedicated output level control. The unique personality of both the 1073’s LINE and MIC inputs, including analog modeled saturation, is also emulated. Each of the EQ bands can be bypassed, and the plug-in is optimized for low CPU usage in general. Sonimus Burnley 73 is available now for $59. It requires OS X 10.6 or later and an AU, VST, RTAS, or AAX plug-in host.
