Sugar Bytes has released Obscurium, a generative synthesizer and “timbral organism” that eats scales, chords, and synthesis, producing interesting new sounds with a gorgeous UI. You can freely change and swap all parameters and motion lanes in the 32-step sequencer, leading to hundreds of new sounds from the init preset. This can generate unique and surprising sequences in a matter of a few clicks. With its VST hosting feature, you can host any of your sound generator plug-ins inside Obscurium to create fresh sounds. Sugar Bytes Obscurium is available now for $99. It requires OS X 10.6.7 or higher, a 2 GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM, and an AU, VST, RTAS or AAX plug-in host application.
