Plugin Alliance has released the Lindell Audio TE-100, an emulation of the all-tube and transformer circuit from the Klein & Hummel UE-100 vintage equalizer of the early 60s. While some earlier models of this first-of-its-kind minimum phase EQ were used to transparently filter out junk low and high frequencies when printing to tape and vinyl, it quickly became commonplace to take advantage of the unique push-button frequency selection. This provided an easy way to not only recall settings, but also alter them on the fly while recording a performance. The UE-100 became known for its musically warm curves and precise response, offering new possibilities for treating frequencies by boosting and/or cutting across the spectrum to shape sounds “like a Pultec on steroids.”
The Plugin Alliance Lindell Audio TE-100 is available now for $149. Plugin Alliance customers should check their email for an introductory discount, expiring on September 30. The plugin requires macOS 10.6 or later and an AU, VST, or AAX host.
