Applied Acoustics Systems has announced the release of Objeq Delay, a creative effect plugin combining acoustic filtering with a “clever” delay unit. The plate, beam, drumhead, and string objects impart evocative acoustic resonances to the input signal. Further shaping is also available via low- and high-cut filters. The in-series delay acts as a classic unit or can split the first and subsequent repeats to either remodel the attack or create complex rhythmic patterns. A LFO module completes the package with comprehensive modulation destinations to the filter, resonator, and delay parameters.

Richard Devine, who contributes 42 presets:

Objeq Delay is very unique effect that imposes acoustic resonances as well as dual delays to the signal in real time, which opens a lot of sonic possibilities. I’ve been using it on different percussion sources and loops. It creates fantastic glitchy delays and swarming metallic drones, which can all be automated or modulated with the built-in LFO. It’s already getting used on all of my sound design sessions.

Applied Acoustics Systems Objeq Delay is available now for $139, with a special introductory price of $99 until May 15. It requires macOS 10.7 or later and an AU, VST, AAX, or RTAS plugin host.
