TAL Software today released TAL-J-8, a “very accurate” emulation of the popular 1980s hardware synthesizer calibrated after their own Jupiter 8 hardware. All sounds are generated in realtime without the use of any samples with the same endless modulation possibilities like the hardware. TAL-J-8 also features a calibration section for extreme resonance and filter overdrive that can make the filter scream. As if news of a TAL Jupiter wasn’t enough on its own, TAL-J-8 also has MPE support and it’s their first Apple Silicon (M1 and beyond) compatible plugin.
Higher HZ has generously shared their TAL-J-8 review video with macOS Audio.
TAL Software TAL-J-8 is available now for $80, with a 20% introductory discount bring the price down to $64. It requires macOS 10.9 or later and an AU, VST, or AAX plugin host.
