It’s that time of year again! This post is for compatibility news related to macOS Sonoma (macOS 14), which was released today. This year, we’re switching things up and moving this here to the news page. If you have your own updates, please comment below.
We will continually update this post, linking directly to developer compatibility statements where possible. Where macOS Sonoma compatibility is unknown, we’ll simply provide a link to the most likely source of updates and try to circle back later.
As always, triple check everything on your system before a major upgrade. Tip: Listings are alphabetical, but you can also use your browser’s search function to get where you need to go.
macOS High Sierra 10.13 to Ventura 13
As with all significant operating system releases, we strongly recommend you do not upgrade to macOS Sonoma just yet. We are currently working hard to ensure compatibility for all Arturia software titles – this includes individual instruments, effects, and utilities – but until the final release is available we cannot be certain it is stable.
macOS Sonoma (14) is Apple’s upcoming OS release scheduled for Tuesday, September 26th. Cherry Audio has been testing all products in the beta versions of Sonoma, and no issues have arisen. If you’re in the middle of projects, however, we recommend that you hold off on upgrading to Sonoma until we have completed our compatibility checks next week with the final release.
REAPER supports macOS 10.5* to macOS 13.
Cycling ’74 (Max)
We are currently testing our plug-ins with macOS Sonoma. Until we have verified compatibility, we recommend holding off on updating.

We have tested all current instruments with macOS Sonoma and found no new compatibility issues over the previous version of macOS (Ventura).
Currently, iZotope software and hardware products are not supported on macOS 14 Sonoma. We cannot recommend to update to macOS 14 at this point. We are conducting systematic tests with macOS 14 in order to offer full compatibility of our software and hardware products as soon as possible.
Digital Performer Version 11 appears to be fully compatible with macOS Sonoma, although final compatibility testing is still on-going.

All Output plugins and software are currently not compatible with macOS 14 Sonoma. While there are no known issues with macOS 14 and our software, we ask you to please wait to update your OS.

Initial MacOS 14 Compatibility
With version 4.2.3, Audio Hijack gained initial compatibility with MacOS 14 (Sonoma), with no known issues. Further testing is in progress, however, with additional updates likely to follow.
The most recent release of macOS, Sonoma (14.x), is not yet officially supported with Slate Digital or All Access Pass software plugins. Members of our Development Team are in the process of testing all of our software in macOS Sonoma and we’ll provide updates on this article when more information is available.

At this stage, we cannot guarantee Sonnox plugin compatibility with macOS Sonoma until further testing has taken place. We advise all Sonnox macOS customers to refrain from updating their operating systems until compatibility has been confirmed.
Soundtheory Ltd. (Gullfoss)
As soon as meaningful test results are available, we will publish a compatibility table for our software and hardware here. Initial tests have shown that some of our programs are not displayed correctly under macOS Sonoma. The graphical problems can lead to inoperability. Therefore, until further notice, please wait to update to macOS Sonoma, especially if you depend on the smooth operation of your Steinberg product.

Initial tests showed no problems with beta versions of macOS Sonoma. However, a final verdict about compatibility can only be given once macOS Sonoma is officially released.
Diva 1.4.6: “Support for latest macOS Ventura/Sonoma”
We are still conducting tests in order to guarantee full functionality on Apple’s latest operating system. At the moment it seems like most UJAM plugins are working as expected (based on our recent tests).
The latest UAD software is currently being tested for compatibility with macOS Sonoma. Universal Audio will announce full compatibility in a future update. Some macOS Sonoma users may experience a display issue when opening UAD plug-ins in Apollo’s Console app [display may be blank, close and re-open to workaround until an update]. Apollo models connected via Thunderbolt are compatible. Apollo models with Thunderbolt Option Card are compatible.
