Yea, the dreaded tool tips. It's like having a back seat driver tell you "don't turn here" at every intersection. Sadly, as of now there is no easy way to turn them off. There is a hack you can do in the terminal, but I'm not going that far for something mildly annoying. I've heard people say 5.13 d...

Sounds like a resource fork problem. Not sure how much you can do when those get lost. I, for one, will be happy when SD2 is a thing of the past for us DP users.

You know, MOTU should really supply a demo version of DP for people who want to give it a test drive. You could always consider the version you have a demo.

No support or upgrades means just that, no support or upgrades No support or upgrades means you aren't entitled because you don't own the license. Using unlicensed software is illegal. The rest is academic. MOTU's response doesn't really surprise me. You already have the software. The only recourse...

Not giving you support or upgrade deals means the license is not yours, which means the copy is illegal. Whether or not MOTU used the word illegal is irrelevant, and doesn't clear the copy. On the other hand, the people at MOTU are not dumb. Whether or not you're holding a legit copy, you represent ...

It seems like Logic would win the best buy award if you are just starting out, but if you already have a decent set of VIs, what features does it really offer? Space Designer is really the only thing that I can think of. I can think of more that I would miss from DP like Chunks, V-Racks, Clippings(...

Ah yes, one of the unlisted bug fixes. Why, oh why, can't MOTU publish these bug fixes?

Everything on that list other than Leopard compatibility existed before 5.13. MOTU seems to always include previous changes in their update read-me files. Why? I have no idea. Maybe it's for the people who are updating from versions prior to 5.12.

Re: Scoring in DP... compared to Logic?

Can anyone tell me how the scoring in DP compares to Logic, or even Sibelius/Finale? Are you asking specifically about the notation editor in DP or scoring to picture in general? If the latter, then I would say DP compares favorably. Chunks, V-racks, QuickTime handling, Clippings, Click options, St...

Re: Bitrate setting is hidden, never forget that!!!!

Because I'm used to seeing the bitrate shown at the menu drawer (prior to 5.12) I assumed I was in 24 bit, My converter is set to 24 bit. This very important setting is hidden in the prefs menu. AAAAARRRRRGGHHHHH I HATE DP!!!!!!! You hate DP because of this, or this just tips the scale? To be fair,...

It would be out of character for MOTU to charge for a compatibility update. Those are usually free. If it coincides with a major update, then the cost would be anywhere between $150-200 if history is repeated.
