Re: No more BIAS Peak, Now what?

i want to like Triumph as I wanted to like Wave Editor. I thought the layer metaphor was great and so purchased that in support of development, but I've never really used it that much, as stringtapper says it's just not intuitive. I've also been having a lot of errors with it since Mountain Lion and...

can't help you with the problem you raise, but so that you have not the frustration of another read without response, the expression you're looking for there is 'piqued my curiosity" :) ..

But no Mainstage 2.2 with the upgrade which is apparently the version on App Store..

Re: Gobbler - Recorded music, session hosting for various DA

I would like to say that I was a recipient of the mailout regarding that beta, as I trialled the service some time back. I took issue with the nature of their promotional material, responded and received what I consider a mature and considered response in the immediacy. Whilst bandwidth and speeds i...

I second the recommendation of Wiretap Anywhere. I own WIretap Studio and ANywhere and both have proven invaluable.

Re: Connecting Laptop to Mixer

ALthough there's still for me a little confusion [as I don't see how that Amazon cable does the conversion, seems like it's light to light to me - but the M-Audio Co2 box on the Sweetwater page was similar to the no name box Jaycar told me of] you've explained a great deal, and confirmed that I made...

Re: Connecting Laptop to Mixer

Also one should note that Toslink is the name of a connector and you can have Toslink connectors for ADAT/Optical/Lightpipe cables as well as S/PDIF cables. BUT as far as I know they will not talk with each other. However whats great about the MBP Digital output is that it doesn't give a s**t what ...

Re: Connecting Laptop to Mixer

Not at all, it's helpful for me and, i'm sure, Mike. The noise issues I've had I think are those from the RF you mention, power supplies and definitely external Dell Monitor. That being said, surely the USB d/a converters are better than the MBP. I guess I meant muddier rather than noisier. Certainl...

Re: Connecting Laptop to Mixer

i've never found the headphone output particularly clean, I would imagine the digital outs would be much cleaner.. The headphone out on the Macbook pros are also digital outs. See the audio section here: http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/specs.html Though if you go balanced out and then balanced into...

I reckon you may be facing this issue.. http://www.gearslutz.com/board/music-computers/500950-firewire-audio-heat-problem-macbook-pro-late-2008-video-proof-6.html it is, quite frankly, a pisser. I have negated it to a degree with Coolbook, but that affects quite markedly the performance of my machin...

Re: What other DAW tempts you the most and why?

I use Logic and Record [which i really like to use, but which doesn't allow me to do all of that which I want, and I still don't really like rewiring] and I have a copy of Studio One which I received with a Presonus device. Apart from the fact that the install DVD was corrupted which didn't give me ...

Re: FCP to STP for audio editing

I have to concur. It's always been safer for me to use the process that Cools suggests, too many errors have occurred for me using the inbuilt send to FCP process.
