How to maintain audio output in Fast User Switching

I have developed an audio digital processor that runs autonomously and is based on a headless Mac mini running Mountain Lion. I do not wish the user to be able to see the screen or control the computer without entering a password. I have looked into various options and the only one that allows all processes to keep running in the background and that does not interfere with some of the Applescripts that run to control the processors, seems to be using Fast User Option. If one adds the Fast User Option in the menu bar and then chooses "Login Window ..." from that menu, the user account/screen gets locked and can only be brought back if the user password is entered. In that mode, all processes seem to run fine in the background, EXCEPT that the audio audio is stopped.

Does anyone know of a way or trick to maintain audio output in that mode?

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I could be wrong but if you VNC into your headless mac you have to enter a user name and password. you can also specify a specific VNC password in system settings. Maybe thats a better solution, or am I misunderstanding your problem?

I have no problem using VNC on that headless Mac and I do use it often, however what I want is to make the headless Mac mini inaccessible to anyone who attempts to get into it by plugging a screen and a keyboard. If someone does, I want that person to have to enter a password. Using a screen saver that requires entering a password does not work as it interrupts programs running in the background. Using Fast User Switching (FUS) as described in my first post works (it leaves programs running n the background) but stops the audio output. I was wondering if someone knows how to maintain the audio output in SFU mode.
