Rewire FL Studio to Ableton Live 9 via Virtual Drive (MAC OS

Post by JAXXTONE » 08 Feb 2017, 20:07

My fellow audio junkies, I require assistance with a ridiculous set up..

Long story short...

I am trying to rewire Fruity Loops Studio that is installed on Windows 10 using VM-Ware (a virtual drive app that's installed within my MACBOOK PRO Drive) with my Ableton Live 9.7 Suite installed on my MAC OSX Sierra.

Is it possible? Can I do it? Please tell me I can do it. I need to do it!!
I appreciate any help or advice. Spank you! :D

P.s Don't worry about my specs, I can fursure run it. Just need to know how to properly route the rewire... if at all possible.

I don't know if it's possible. ReWire sits in the background, speaking to apps, but technically never "escapes" the system that it's running on. Even though you are running both DAWs on the same hardware, they are really two separate systems. You'd have to get ReWire transmitting (and listening) via something that could bridge the gap, but also something that VMware supports for I/O, like a virtual LAN or something.

You might still be able to sync both using MIDI, then use something else to bring audio across.
