We are happy to let you know that all of our plugins have been tested and are compatible with the recently released macOS 11 Big Sur.
We would also like to let you know that soon we will be building updated versions of our plugins with native support for M1 and other Apple Silicon processors. All of the plugins in the legacy and the new collections will have two types of installers each, built for both older (10.6-10.14) and newer (10.9+) versions of macOS.

It's that time of year again!

This topic is for compatibility news related to macOS Big Sur (macOS 11.0) as well as the transition from Intel to Apple silicon.

Updates may be made after we post. We will link directly to developer compatibility statements where possible. As always, triple check everything on your system before a major upgrade.

Users and developers, please post and update at will!
Exactly what I needed, thank you! I'll be sure to follow this thread and site.

Thank you!

Plugin Alliance

We are happy to announce that all of our products are compatible with the recent macOS Big Sur 11.0.1 update.

Notice that if you own a machine with a new Apple M1 Chip already though, we are not ready for that yet. We are currently working hard on qualifying this, too.

Please stay subscribed to our newsletter or check our online FAQ's regularly to obtain information on the current operating system requirements.

Sonnox

https://sonnox.freshdesk.com/support/so ... atibility/
Sonnox have been working closely with Apple with each beta release of macOS 11 Big Sur and at this present time, we are unable to guarantee compatibility with the latest MacOs and the Sonnox Range. And the new M1 ARM based Macs machines will not be compatible with any Sonnox plugins until we have completed further testing on this platform.

Because of this, we do encourage all our dedicated Sonnox users to hold off from updating to macOS 11 Big Sur, or from upgrading to a new ARM-based Apple machine until compatibility with the new operating system and hardware has been confirmed. We will continue to test our plugins on the new software and will keep this page regularly updated with any new developments.

PreSonus

https://support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/s ... ouncements
Universal Control 3.3.0.59348 released on July 7, 2020, already supports Big Sur macOS 11 and can be downloaded from the download page for each product or from your MyPreSonus account.

This includes support for:

Studio One 5.1.1
PreSonus Hub 1.2
Notion (6.8.0 Build 18061)
PreSonus Sphere (all included software, add-ons, and bundled content)
Capture 3.0.3
Worx Control 1.5
SL Room Control v1.0.0.28178
See link above for detailed hardware compatibility.
Apple has announced its plans to move away from Intel-based x86/x64 CPU solutions to instead use a custom-designed, RISC-based solution (aka “Apple Silicon”) now known as the M1 Chip. This also coincides with the release of macOS 11.0 Big Sur set for Nov 12, 2020, which will support both Intel and Apple Silicon hardware.

PreSonus is committed to supporting Apple’s new hardware and will continue to update our customers as this situation progresses. As new information becomes available we will update this page accordingly. We suggest bookmarking this page for future reference.

M-Audio

https://m-audio.com/kb/article/2507
M-Audio has been actively testing all applicable hardware and software products with each beta release of macOS 11 Big Sur. We understand how important it is for all our users to know exactly what works before they make the jump on any new updates. Please refer to this article for all M-Audio hardware and software compatibility with macOS 11 Big Sur.

For this reason, we encourage all our dedicated M-Audio hardware and software owners to refrain from updating to macOS 11 Big Sur until compatibility with the new operating system can be confirmed.

Tokyo Dawn Labs

We're glad to inform you that our plugins already support Mac OS Big Sur.

Our latest plugins Molot GE and Molotok natively support the Apple Silicon platform.

All other products seem to run fine in intel emulation mode, but we'll rework all software for native Apple Silicon support. These updates will be rolled out soon.

FabFilter

We have now tested with the release candidate version of macOS 11 / Big Sur on an Intel Mac and didn't find any problems with our current plug-in versions.

Again, for production systems we generally recommend to wait with upgrading to a new macOS version until the first update.

Our Intel plug-ins will also work well on a new Apple Silicon Mac using Rosetta 2. We are working on native Apple Silicon plug-in versions and are planning to release these soon.

We recommend you to wait a bit longer before updating your operating system, as we cannot guarantee that every ujam plug-in will work as expected at this point.

Valhalla DSP

https://valhalladsp.com/2020/10/13/valh ... r-64-bits/
We have officially updated all of the Valhalla plugins for autumn 2020! The changes across the plugin line:

• VST3 (in addition to VST 2.4, AAX, Audio Units)
• Ready for Big Sur!
• Signed and notarized installers for Macs
...

It turns out that Big Sur breaks compatibility with some APIs that the older Valhalla plugin builds were using. The current plugins have been built with the latest Juce APIs, the latest VST3 SDK, and the latest AAX SDK, so these should work for Macs running OS 10.8 through Big Sur.

So, if you are running Big Sur, be sure to download the latest plugin installers from your user account! The newest installers are the ones in the top of the list for each plugin in your user account; the older installers are called “Legacy.”
Asked in comments whether their plugins work on Apple Silicon Macs:
Yes, as they run in Rosetta on Apple Silicon. This has been verified by people running the ARM powered Mac development kits. We will be porting to Apple Silicon in the next quarter.

DSP-Quattro

Version 5.5: 20.11.03:

⁃ MacOS 11 Big Sur supported on Intel-based Macs.

https://www.facebook.com/dspquattro/pos ... 1915902938
About DSP-Quattro v5.5 and MacOS 11 Big Sur on ARM-processor based Macs:

The officially available version 5.5 of DSP-Quattro is fully compatible with MacOS 11 Big Sur under Rosetta 2, and it runs very fast as well.

We also have a beta version 5.6 of DSP-Quattro which is a Universal application and which runs natively at full speed on ARM-Based Macs. It is really very promising and we expect to release it in a few weeks!
